Nepal is one of the best places in the world for mountaineering. Where to go for an exciting mountaineering activity in Nepal 1. Pumori – Pumori is located at the Center Napal Himalaya with an elevation of 23,494 feet. It is considered a "technical climb" in Nepal among the other challenging mountains. You can find Pumori just about eight kilometers from Mount Everest at its west. The mountain's name actually means "unmarried daughter", being the daughter mountain of Mount Everest. 2. Amadablam – Mount Amadablam is a rocky mountain that is located at Khumbu Himal, Nepal. It has an elevation of 22,467 feet, but its main attraction is its scenic beauty. Most mountaineers climb Amadablam because they want to witness the beauty that lies in this magnificent mountain. Getting to the top is almost like being in heaven. 3. Baruntse – Baruntse Mountain is found in the Khumbu region along the east of Nepal. It is known for its crown of glaciers, namely Imja Glacier, Barun Glacier and Hunku Glacier. Climbing Baruntse is a bit challenging, even for experienced climbers. An avalanche struck the climber Chhewang Nima in 2010. 4. Dhaulagiri – This Mountain belongs to the list of challenging mountains of Nepal. It has an elevation of 26,795 feet and is located at Pokhara, Nepal. The Dhaulagiri is considered the world's seventh highest mountain and is known as "White Mountain" due to the snow covering the peaks. 5. Makalu – With an altitude of 27,765 feet, Mount Makalu ranks as the fifth highest mountain the in the world. It is located just about 14 miles from Mount Everest to the east. The perfect pyramid structure is what makes Mount Makalu a famous, yet challenging climb in Nepal. Only professional and experienced mountaineers are allowed to climb the mountain because of its altitude.
