- First, you need to prepare the bandana. Hold a square bandana in front of you. Place your fingers at two corners or edges which are diagonal to each other. Position the bandana to make it appear as a diamond shape. Make sure one edge is pointed towards the ground.
- Allow the top corner to fall towards the corner facing the floor. But if you have a small bandana, fold the top corner just so it will reach the center of the cloth. If you think the head is larger, you can fold the bandana without reaching the center point of it. The fold depends on the size of the rider's head.
- Now place the bandana just at the center of your forehead with the straight edge of it touching your skin. For better fix of your hair, face against the direction of the wind so it blows your hair away from your face. Make sure you lower down your chin. The center and bottom edge of the bandana should touch the top and back of your head.
- Ensure that the bandana is in proper place by looking in a mirror and adjusting it. Adjust the placement by holding the pointed ends of the bandana and moving it left or right. Hold it temporarily in place by tugging it behind your ears. Then smooth out the fabric at the back of your head.
- Hold the two pointed ends again and stretch the bandana out by reaching both ends at the back of your head, just above the nape. Make a knot and make it as tight as possible.
- Once you are satisfied with the first knot, tie another knot to make it more secure. Make it tight as well. Then smooth out the bandana on the top and back of your head to make sure that it is properly covered.
