Inflatable Shelters for the Military
In times of emergency, there are a couple of important steps that need to be taken immediately. The first is to set up a Command and Control Post and the second is to set up a Disaster Relief Centre. The arrangement for these two to happen should be automatic. For both of these two steps to take place what you need is an inflatable shelter. The requirement of such an inflatable shelter was felt on the fateful day of 11 September 2001. Following this ghastly incident there were several discussions between the civil authorities and the industry that deals in various kinds of air conditioning, cooling and power generation equipments, their sale and rentals. These inflatable shelters tomorrow could be a military shelter or an Incident Command Post or a post for staging or rehabilitation, for decontamination or isolation and quarantine. Such a shelter could be for PIO and media or could be used as a Mobile Field Hospital and a Mobile Emergency Response Facility.
The military shelter would need to be housed in an inflatable shelter. But, what about its air conditioning and heating as well as the power supply? These services would be provided by a mobile vehicle cum trailer that would be connected to the inflatable shelter. The mobile response trailer would be capable of providing 10 tons of ice cold air conditioning and 140,000 BTUs of clean electric heat as well as 50 kW of electric energy. This actually means that the military shelter would be hooked to 20 window air conditioners equivalent of cooling and a furnace that would be able to heat a huge building as well as light up more than 800 bulbs of 60 watts of output each. True to military traditions, this quick response vehicle would be positioned in record time along with the inflatable shelter rentals just about anywhere. This kind of facility is available for deployment any time of the day or night and throughout the week. The space available in the fire resistant tent would be 450 sq ft with tables and chairs. The interior could be reconfigured to meet any contingency.
