Removing Annoying Mosquitoes
Don't you hate it whenin the dead of nightthat annoying ‘buzzzzzzzzzzz' floats back and forth across your face and around your ears? Usually you end up swatting yourself, while the annoying noise keeps on and on.
The chemical of choice for killing those annoying mosquitoes is Malathion. However, it's toxic and needs to be handled extremely carefully. Numerous people have an allergic reaction to it.
According to one woman, there is still a simpler remedy.
"I was at a deck party awhile back and the mosquitoes were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine and the little demons disappeared."
The next time the woman went out she filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around her chair whenever she saw a mosquito. It worked.
It worked at a picnic where her husband sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area and the standing water nearby.
"During the summer, I don't leave home without it."
"It immediately killed the mosquitoes", reported another person who tried it on his deck and around all the doors.
The bottle of Listerine cost only $1.89 froma Target store.
"It doesn't take much and it is a big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of Bug-spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes. So, try this, please. It will last a couple of days. Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame. Spray around the window frames, and even inside the dog house."
Placing mosquito deterring plants around such as catnip,marigolds, citronella, basil and lavender and removing those wet spots mosquitoes love, will also help.
Others suggest eating lots of spicy food, especially Thai chilies, or spray garlic powder all over the yard. Eat raw cloves of garlic, lots of lemons, or take B1 Vitamins.
Others have found mosquito zapping lights the most helpful means of mosquito control, or slow chemical electrical release, as opposed tousingsmelly mosquito coils.
A woman, who says she feeds 20+ mosquitoes regularly, suggests that if you do get bitten, rub soap on the area to ease the itching, particularly if it is a high PH soap.
