Q & A: Ryan Willms

h(y)r collective one of my favorite online sites for fashion and style is run by Ryan Willms. This is definitely the blog to read if your looking for the best of men's lifestyle products, new brands and products, to the everyday classics, and monthly issues and daily updates. I had a quick sit down with him pertaining to his works , how he started his blog, interests, and his favorite brands of clothing. Check out the interview below

Introduce yourself for the people that aren't familiar.

My name is Ryan Willms. I am the founder and Creative Director of h(y)r collective, an online magazine/blog. Recently we also opened an online shop and now have our own product range.

Explain how hyr collective got started?

It really was just something I wanted to read, and couldn't find online at the time. I wanted to read about certain brands, people and products and there just wasn't any information. I also felt that these same people deserved a bigger platform to be seen on, so that's always been a goal as well. It began with myself and Owen Parrott, just writing about things we liked.

Do you have any future goals that you would like to see your blog accomplish?
We actually have some pretty big goals. Printing, a new website, new name, more products, more retail and a full service studio are in the blueprint.

Are there any new trends out their that you like and might consider trying?

I don't know if there are any 'trends' I'm looking to jump on. I like the idea of mixing elements of style areas of clothing or regions together. I think I'm going to get some Birkenstock sandals pretty soon, as well as start wearing some Adidas Samba's to play soccer and casually.

Any trends you want to see disappear?

Bloggers that don't know anything getting credit and being looked up to.

What are your top 3 or 4 brands you are feeling as of late?

Engineered Garments
Nigel Cabourn
Keaton Chase
Anderson & Co.

How would you describe your style?

Definitely casual, but with different hints of prep, outdoors and Japanese influence.

What are 3 words to describe your life right now?
Exciting, scary, fun.

Any Last words?
Thanks to all the readers of the website and to the people who have supported us so far. I wouldn't want to be doing anything else.
